The Unhoneymooners, I’m not even sure how to start this. I’m a huge fan of easy-to-read fluffy romances. This book is just that. I found myself enjoying the “enemies to lovers” even if Ethan and Olive aren’t really enemies to begin with. They argue and bicker like a married couple, which I really liked. The way they slowly warm up to each other and learn to enjoy their time together mixed with the fun activities really create a beautiful story.
I did have a few issues with the plot, but to save y’all from the spoilers, I’ll just say that I really disagree with some of Ethan’s choices and actions towards the end of the story. It’s really almost gaslighting and I found it hard to believe that Ethan wouldn’t even take Olive’s words into consideration.
Regardless of my concerns with Ethan, the escapist and comforting romance is a really great read that I would give a 4.5/5. It was such a great read that I knocked it out in a day and absolutely loved it. The story doesn’t take itself too seriously as a lot of novels try to do and I flew through it, imagining each scene like it was a movie!
